Educator, athlete and coach Forest Scott worked with and for Max while in Andrews. Max attributed the ability of many of his runners to the excellent coaching of Forest in Junior High in Andrews. Forest has key insights regarding the focus of this project and we have finally been able to schedule a interview with him in Lubbock. If all goes well, producer Matt Wallace will be capturing video of Forest telling his story to Mark Wallace on July 1, 2013.
Mark and Jan Wallace spent the morning with a microphone, a recorder and Max Goldsmith. They captured some stories and discussed the project. Max was not feeling as strong as he would like, but he’s encouraged that we are moving forward on this documentary.
Mark Wallace has been contacting many people who have been identified as people wanting to see this project move forward. As financial support has begun to grow, we will start some level of production in the coming weeks.
With the corrections to the video introduction successfully uploaded, Mark Wallace has started sharing this website and the project more publicly. We have also added tracking to monitor the number of people visiting the site to better gauge levels of interest.
We invite you to share this site with others who might be interested in seeing this project actually happen.

A new version of the overview video has been uploaded. Due to unfortunate timing, the latest version has a few graphical glitches that will soon be fixed, but the editor is out of the country
until early December. However, the earlier mistakes in content from the initial draft version have been corrected.
Thank you for your patience while this currently unfunded project is getting started.

The films from the 50’s and 60’s that Max has provided this project have been delivered to a reputable transfer house, but currently that company’s service is on hold while keep equipment is being repaired. Due to the unique nature of these systems, there is no immediate target date for the equipment return/repair or for when the transfers will be completed.
We’re glad to inform the world that we are making strides towards telling on interesting and wonderful story about a night when 2 National High School Track Records were set by some talented Andrews, Texas, athletes competing under the coaching of Max Goldsmith.
