Not everyone knows Max Goldsmith. Even fewer people know about the night that 5 different Andrews athletes comprised two different relay teams and set 2 new national records in high school sports. Here are just a few of many quotes regarding the man and the coach.

Highlights as Andrews High School’s boys track and field head coach:
- Years: 1952-66.
- District team titles: 11, including 10 consecutive from 1952-61.
- State team titles: 5 (1954, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961).
- Individual state titles: 20.
- Other: National high school records established in 440 relay (twice in 1960), mile relay (1960) and 440 dash (Ted Nelson, 1961).
